Reporting phishing emails

Reporting phishing emails

When you think you see a phishing email you want to report, please forward it to phish@chinooksd.ca.

Whenever we get hit by a phishing attack (about every 7.3 seconds, it seems) our staff do an amazing job of letting everyone know (including me!). This is great, really. The only problem is that my email inbox can get a bit overwhelmed at times. To fix this, we've created an email address (phish@chinooksd.ca) so that you can forward your email to that address. That way, we can still see the "bad" emails you're getting and see trends in our Division.

We will also be adding a "phish alert" button to our email system so you can use one click to notify us on those systems. We'll let you know when that's ready to go.

Keep in mind that we use KnowBe4 for "phishing tests." So, you may see some content from KnowBe4 in the future. If you fail a phishing test, our system will automatically show you what you missed in the email - the clues that showed it was a phishing email and you'll receive a link to a guide explaining more about phishing.

The KnowBe4 graphic looks like this. If you see that graphic, you may have just fallen for a phishing test and you can probably learn something by reading the message.
