Resetting a Password with The Self Service Password Tool

This guide will show you how to reset your password with the Self Service Password Tool.


2. Click on “Reset Password



3. Enter your Chinook User ID ex. jsmith72 and click “Enter


4. A text message with a 6-digit code will be sent to the registered phone number. Enter the code into the “Verification Code'' Field and then click “Confirm
There is a timeout counter on the bottom right of the screen. You will have two minutes to complete the process before having to start over


5. Enter a new password in both fields that adheres to the following requirements and click “Submit

  1. Passwords must be 8 characters in length
  2. Must contain at least one number (i.e. 0, 1, 2, … 9)
  3. Must contain at least one alphabetic character (i.e. a, b, c, … z)
  4. Security maintains a history of each user"s most recent five (5) passwords and does not allow the reuse
